Hermit Dutch Coastal Gin, based in Amsterdam, has forged a strategic partnership with the renowned Portuguese wholesale company, Aviworld, marking its entry into the vibrant spirits market of Portugal. The collaboration is set to leverage Aviworld's robust network within the hospitality sector, particularly in the Algarve region, where the company is headquartered.
In a significant move to bolster its presence in Portugal, Hermit Gin has appointed Rafael Silva as the brand ambassador. Silva, recognized for his exceptional mixology skills and accolades such as being a finalist in the Martini Grand Prix 2016 and Bacardí Legacy 2018, will spearhead the establishment of Hermit Gin's footprint in Portugal. The initial focus will be on the Algarve, with subsequent efforts planned for the key cities of Lisbon and Porto.
Siward de Groot, the managing director at Hermit Gin, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "We are delighted to join forces with Aviworld, a respected name in the spirits wholesale industry in Portugal. Rafael Silva's outstanding mixology skills and industry recognition make him the perfect local brand ambassador to elevate Hermit Dutch Coastal Gin in Portugal. This partnership represents a strategic move for us and reinforces our commitment to delivering an exceptional gin experience to a broader audience."
Highlighting the unique qualities of Hermit Gin, Silva emphasized the use of purified seawater, aligning well with Portugal's picturesque coastline that holds appeal in both national and international markets. Silva praised the product's quality, emphasizing the meticulous selection of botanicals by master distillers, making Hermit Gin stand out in terms of delicacy and excellence.
As of December last year, Hermit Gin successfully entered the competitive on-trade market in Japan. The brand, now under the ownership of Dutch entrepreneurs and brothers Noah Duijst and Siward de Groot since 2022, continues to expand its global presence with strategic partnerships and the appointment of key ambassadors like Rafael Silva.
